Bird’s Cook E Book
Before there were agility competition regional wins, before winning national championships and international medals, before all of that there was a very cute and smart standard poodle puppy named Bleu.
Many, many years ago I rode horses for a living. I’ve always had dogs in my life, but never ‘trained’ a pup much beyond the ‘sit’ and ‘wave’ level. Then along came Bleu. I knew right away she was different, so smart, so special, so keen to work puzzles. I decided we needed to try an actual dog training CLASS! We graduated puppy class ‘summa cum awesome’ and wanted to do more. Imagine my delight to learn there was a new sport called ‘Agility’!! This 3-day event rider signed right up and has never looked back.
Poodles, border collies, rescue, sport mix, all have come into my life and taught me how to be a better competitor and a better human being. My love of animals, training and showing pairs well with my other big love: BAKING!!
When I first started trialing, every single show I ALWAYS brought some sort of homemade yummy baked goodies. It makes me so, so happy to see people enjoying my food! Folks started asking me where I was going to show next! Folks also started asking when was I going to put together a cookbook? Needing airfare upon making the world team for the World Agility Open this May 2018 Netherlands coupled with two snow days and a true happiness that comes from sharing finally made it happen!! Border collie Bird is my best friend who’s talent has won our spot for us this time. She follows my past babies and world teammates Maverick, Sweet and Jack. Each one special, each one gifted, each one truly my family with agility one of many things we enjoy together.
The 12 recipes in the book are the most requested by my dog show friends over the years. I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!!!
